Learn to Make Money with Google AdSense

First Steps

Obviously, before you can use Googles Adsense program to make money online, you need to have a website of your own. Not all sites are accepted (but most are). You have to make sure that you have a relevant site, that offers unique and valuable content, as well as creative design that does not include too many advertisements.

Not only that, you must have a steady traffic in your site, in order to qualify for Google AdSense. So, it is really important to make sure that your site is really interesting and informative and that there is a sizable audience to find it. Find a niche that you really love and feel passionate about. You should do some research to ensure the niche you chose is popular. You want to target a niche that is popular and has an active online community, which you will need to get involved in to promote your site.

Determine a Adsense Llayout

Once your site is ready and approved by Google AdSense, it’s time to log in and configure your new AdSense advertisement to include on your site.

First click on “AdSense for Content”. Don’t worry: configuration is pretty easy and kinda fun too, you get to pick colors, sizes, and much more. Then your next step will be to decide what type of advertisements you want Google to serve up on your pages.
You can start out with a text Ad unit, which is more useful, flexible and have a higher payout compared to the other content adverts. The next section of your task is to specify the format and layout of your AdSense ad, and there are a rather amazing number of different size and format options. Google has a helpful AdSense Ad Format Reference Page that’s worth a quick peek.
After choosing your ad layout size, which you can change anytime, its time to change the color scheme of the ad itself. Try to choose a color scheme that both blends with your sites colors, but is still visible enough to ‘pop’, you may need to experiment a bit to find just the right colors. It helps people not gloss over them and, hopefully, click on the ads a bit more frequently.

Define alternate URL and Channel

Pick a alternate ad if your keyword may not always have an advertiser bidding. By default, Google displays public service ads (PSAs), but if you want to create an HTML snippet that produces the same size content, you can use that instead, or, you can simply have a solid box in the color of your choice that blends into the design of your site.

Once your ad unit is all set up, Google will produce some code for your site. Next open your website or blog and find the spot where you want your ads to display, and paste in the new code by using Edit –> Paste.

Save your template and rebuild your site, or, if it’s just a page, save the page back onto the server and bring it up in your web browser and check that an ad is displaying in the right place.

This is just the start, there is so much to learn to make money with Google adsense. You can choose the best layout’s and color schemes that you like. It is really up to you on how you want to make your ads work and match with your site. The amount of money you can make with Google adsense is very much influenced by how much traffic your site gets and the competiveness of the keyword generating your adsense ads.

How to Make Money with Google Adwords

Google Adwords, or Pay per Click is Googles main bread and butter. Google Adwords is used to create ads that can be displayed on Google search and the Adsense network. As a dominant force in the Search Engine world, Googles Adwords program is used by many businesses to make money money.
When you create an Adwords ad, you define the keywords that will be associated with your ad and decide how much you wish to bid for each click. This gives you complete control over how much you pay for each click. As your ad gains ranking, you can lower your maximum bid and still get the same spot in the search results.

It is very easy to set up a Google adwords account. Here are some basic steps to get you started:

1. Register an Adwords account with a active email and set a password you can remember.

2. Set your account currency. This currency will be used for all billing and bid tracking. generally you would set this up as the same currency as your credit card and/or other accounts, but it can be what ever you want. Once the currency is set, you can not change it. So, obviously, choose the currency that makes the most sense for your business.

3. Verify your account. If you created a new Google Account to use for AdWords, you’ll receive an email asking you to verify your email address. Click the link provided in that email and then sign in to your AdWords account with the email address and password you recently chose.

4. Submit your billing information. You can explore your AdWords account without submitting billing information. However, you can not actually display any ads on the search network until you make your first payment. Instructions on billing info will be presented within your adwords account, it’s pretty simple and secure and fast, you can have your ad running in minutes.
As soon as your payment is made, you can start running ads and driving traffic to your website(s).

There are many advantages in using Google Adwords. One of these, Adwords Discounter will automatically lower your cost per click price to one cent above your nearest competitor to maintain your spot in the search results. This saves you having to loggin and adjust your bids all the time, which can amount to a lot of saved time (or over bidding).

The way Adwords positions your ads is another great advantage of the program. In Adwords the position of a certain ad is determined by multiplying your CPC (cost per click) by your CTR (click through rate) and not simply by CPC alone.

Other advantages which Googles program has over similar ones include setup time and specific country / language targeting. With Adwords your ads can be live on Google within five minutes of creating them so you can potentially begin to see results immediately, ads on other web advertising tools usually go live after a three to five day waiting period. Adwords allows you to choose who should see your ads from among 250+ countries and 14 languages, this means you have more control over your ads so you very accurately define your target audience.

These are just the basic steps to starting a Google Adwords account. There is a lot more to learn and many tricks of the trade to really leverage Google Adwords and Googles other traffic sources.

3 Sources of Money from Google

January 9th, 2010 | Uncategorized | No Comments »

Google is the biggest, most widely used search engine in the World. Of course they make a lot of Money. But they aren’t the only ones making money from Google. There are thousands of marketers and businesses that have figured out how to make money from Google (and other major search engines). There are three ways that this is done, each of which involves iffluencing internet traffic.
There are three primary ways to make money from Google. The tool used most often by existing businesses is Google Adwords. Implimenting Google Adwords (PPC) is actually pretty easy. You can easily expect to see results within hours of setting up your campaign. You select the keywords that are relevant to you site, build some text ads, set you budget and max bids and optimize as needed. Google has a good training center that introduces the basics of Adwords. I am sure you know Google makes A LOT of money. Their adwords program (PPC) is the source of most of this fortune. A marketer that implements Google Adwords well, can realize HUGE return on investment. Done poorly, a marketer can easily spend money and see no return. So it is important to understand your market, your target keywords and the Adwords system before setting up your first campaign. People increase their profits with Google Adwords by either driving traffic to their own ecommerce site, or by driving traffic to an affiliate product (which you get commission for). It is amazing just how much money is being made by some through Google Adwords (also known as PPC).
Google Adsense is a well known, popular way many sites make money from Google. In this model, Google pays the site owner for traffic. To use Google Adsense, you must place a code (you get from Google) on your site that allows Google to display ads relevant to the content of your site(s). Each time one of your site visitors clicks one of these ads, it generates money for you. There is a lot of sites selling Adsense ready websites, complete with content and all. In my opinion, these are scams, simply because Google will ‘see’ these sites, label them as duplicate and bury them deep in the search results, meaning very little organic traffic. There is really not a ‘turn key’ model out there for Adsense, any site selling you otherwise is most likely a Scam. A website must be unique and have a strong traffic base to have any chance of being profitable. The more successful model for Adsense is content/information sites that have a lot of traffic. An example being Squidoo or HubPages where content is ever growing.
But the Golden Carrot of Internet Marketing is Organic traffic. Organic traffic is when a person comes to your site via Google (or other) search results. Someone typed a Keyword that Google recognized as relevant to your site, your site ranks well with Google, so your site is listed near to top on the first page of Google. Having your site on the 1st page of Google search results can bring you LOADS of traffic, Free. While it is true that getting on the 1st page of Google is challenging, and can not happen overnight, it is something that can be learned fairly easily. The specific things you must do to optimize your website to show on the first page of Google search results is refered to as Search Engine Optimization, or SEO. What is cool about this method of making money from Google is that there are A LOT of keyword prases that are just not well optimized by others. If you search that term and look for how well they (competing search results) utilize the different applications of SEO you will often find that very few sites are well optimized. What this means is that if you learn and apply the principals of SEO to your sites, you could end up on the first page of Google search for highly searched keyword phrases. Organic traffic is amazing, it is free, it can come in mass volumes and it can make you money from Google 24 hours a day.
